Captain Yaw’s

Hi Guys!

I’m back with another review! I’ve been meaning to check them out since last year but I finally went this week.

Captain Yaw’s is a fish & chips shop in Osu, Accra. They also do chicken, but I really wanted to try the fish because I don’t think I’ve had authentic fish & chips in Accra.

The menu is very simple, which I’m always a fan of because the longer the menu, the more “We don’t have that” we hear. & I don’t like that.

It’s a cute little space with seating for eating in, but you can also get it to go, which I did.

The owners were also incredibly sweet & attentive, making meal suggestions & double checking [before I even had to] to make sure I got everything I asked for. I always appreciate eateries that do that for their customers.

Now, to eat I got a small fish & chips & I’ll be honest, it wasn’t really small. I got a nice serving of chunky fluffy chips & a lightly battered, nicely seasoned fish. The tartar sauce that came with it just pulled everything together so perfectly. So good.

When I was younger, my mum & I would get fish & chips on the way home from school & it was usually served in paper [as a to-go pack] & I just thought it was so cute that the to-go packs from Captain Yaw’s paid a little homage to that with their newspaper-looking packs, complete with the take-away flier.

Now, the price range.

Food ranges from GHS 8 – GHS 75 and the drinks range from GHS 5 – GHS 12.

I’m definitely going to go back & I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.

Check them out & let me know what you think.

Thanks for reading.

M.
